Borkowski eyes international players
December 21, 2007
Shek Borkowski has admitted he will be looking to ’increase the quality’ of his squad before the beginning of pre-season in February 2008 and is targeting four new signings before the start of next season in his quest to bring trophies to the club.
“We’ll have to be very careful. We want to sign someone who can come in and will make this team better," said Borkowski. "It will be really important for us to get experienced international players in."
"The quality I know is here, but I still think there are areas we can improve. We have a talented group of players but I want to strengthen that to see how far we can go this season."
Reports have linked FC Indiana with moves for an unnamed Brazilian midfielder and a Canadian defender.
However, while Borkowski admits he is looking to improve his squad, the FC Indiana coach is keeping his cards close to his chest.
"We are certainly looking to try and increase the quality within the squad," Borkowski, who is 50-7-3 with the club, told fcindiana.com. "I think the players appreciate that as well. Every player worth their salt in at this level likes to see the squad getting good players in and making not only the club better, but making them better players also."
